ESOL - English as a Second Language Basic Level
Duration
September 2022: 11 weeks. Monday/ Wednesday / Thursday, 11:30 - 13:15
January and March 2023: 5 weeks, 09:15 - 11:00. Day: TBC
April and May 2023: 5 weeks, 11:30 - 13:15. Day: TBC
Entry Requirements
Before joining:
• There is an informal, 10-minute interview.
• We will discuss your needs & what you want to get from the course.
• You will need to do a simple assessment. This is just to make sure that the course you want to do is the best one for you.
Eligibility
• Live in Ireland (Stamp 4, 1G or an EU Passport) & have a PPS number
• Be over 18 years old
• Be able to attend the classes in the Centre
Careers / Further progression
After this course you will be able to progress for further training at ESOL QQI Level 3.

If you want to start learning your English skills, this ESOL Basic course is for you. You will improve your:
• Grammar (basic constructions)
• Speaking & Listening
• Reading (everyday situations topics)
• Writing (simple sentences)
• Introductory vocabulary
• Basic knowledge about using a computer
This course is equivalent to level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
