Entry Requirements
32 UCAS points to include Art at Higher Level and 4 OLC’s (Grade O4 or above) to include Art, Maths and English (Level 2 Essential Skills in Numeracy and Literacy will also be accepted); OR Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design, Level 3 Art and Design Foundation Diploma or equivalent Level 3 qualification. A portfolio of work demonstrating your suitability and aptitude for this course must be presented at interview. Minimum age for entry is normally 18, which may be waived in exceptional cases.

On completion, you can progress onto a relevant degree programme at university with exemptions from Year 1 and Year 2 in some cases. (This is at the discretion of the university). Having developed a strong skill base, you can also seek employment in the creative industries.

Course Overview
This is an exciting and intensive 2-year course offering the opportunity to experience a wide range of textile practices and design skills through exploration and experimentation. The 1st year of the course encourages you to explore a variety of textile processes, including printed and embroidered textiles, weave, and mixed media. In 2nd year students move towards specialised work to refine ideas in design development and textile processes producing more resolved outcomes. Students work on a range of contemporary project briefs, resulting in innovative outcomes. You will participate in public exhibitions at NWRC and beyond.
