Minimum Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate: O6/H7 in 5 subjects or Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI Level 4 Equivalent qualifications will be considered. Mature applicants who have relevant industry experience and may not meet the above requirements are welcome to apply.

QQI 5M4339 Healthcare Support is a major award and may be used to access the CAO courses through the Higher Education Links Scheme including Level 8 courses in TUD, NCI and SETU Carlow, Early Childhood Care and Education; DCU, Education-Early Childhood Education and Health & Society.
Employment Prospects
Employment as a HCA in Children’s Health Ireland hospitals, St. John of God and Menni Services, Stuarts Hospital, Cheeverstown House, and similar special needs settings.

All our courses have had the charges reduced to a €50 registration charge which you will need to pay to accept your offer. This charge covers your full course costs for the year.

Healthcare support for children is extremely rewarding as a career. Children have unique needs and our experienced staff will guide you through the theory, skills and attitudes to assist children from 0-18 years with their health and well being and learn how to communicate with families.
Our highly experienced staff will lead you to realise the importance of developmental milestones in your work experience with children in hospitals, childcare and special needs settings.
Work Experience
Work experience placements take place in any setting working with children’s health and wellbeing including hospitals, special education and community health services and you will attend for 1 day per week and a block placement in the Spring.
