Explore how to tell a story with art from blank page to finish, regardless of your drawing capabilities! The following topics will be covered:

The theory of comics, what they are, where to read them, etc
The comic-making process
The comic industry both within Ireland and Internationally
Writing, scripting, and story construction for comics
The unseen parts of comic books like lettering and print production
The differences between illustrations and comic book storytelling
Constructing panels, pages, and visual stories through drawings
Lettering your comics (speech bubbles, sound effects, etc)
The importance of colour in comics
Finishing and printing your comic book


Kevin has been writing and publishing his own books for the past 5 years and in that time he has had numerous books published and released across the country in shops like Waterstones. He has also worked in various editorial positions over the course of 2 years for MyFutprint Entertainment, an International comic book company based in the States, releasing their books in stores Internationally. In the Cork City Libraries he has delivered a series of writing classes for comic books to teens.
