Entry Requirements

Minimum Minimum
• Applicants must be 16+ years of age on entry to the course.
• Leaving Cert, LCVP, LCA or QQI Level 4 Major Award is essential. • Mature applicant route available for applicants aged 23+.
• Competent written and spoken English (CEFR B1 or Higher).
• Non-EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland.

Additional
• Demonstrable interest in creative content production for audio, radio or podcast channels through previous experience or hobby.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and problem solving skills.
• Some previous industry experience is desirable.
• Full Driving licence is desirable; for project work, progressing to suitable work placement and employment.

The aim of the traineeship is to provide the learners with the skills and related knowledge in media industries; researching information, print, radio and video journalism for news, sports and lifestyle content; creative audio production and radio/podcasting production to enable them to plan and pitch creative concepts targeting key audience groups and to secure sustainable employment in the media industry.
