Entry Requirements

• Education: Leaving Certificate or equivalent. • Aptitude: Learners will be required to display both practical skills and the associated knowledge in order to complete the assessments.

• Previous Experience: The Level 2 Diploma Food and Beverage Service is for learners who wish to work in the hospitality industry and already have knowledge of the basic principles of restaurant or bar work, or who can demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to work and study in order to supplement their existing knowledge.

On successful completion of this 8064-03 - Diploma in Food and Beverage Service award, learners will have the skills, knowledge and competency required to work in the provision of food and beverage services to clients in the hospitality sector.

INTRODUCTION
The aim of this programme is to enable the learner develop the skills required to work and become certified as a commis waiter. Learners will develop an understanding of the basic principles of restaurant or bar work.

WORK EXPERIENCE
• This programme is a mix of in class delivery and work experience. From week 5 learners spend 3 days in a week at work in an appropriate environment. Learners return to class on the final week.
