Course Description:
Couch to 5K, twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays over 8 weeks. When you sign up to this course you are signing up to 2 nights per week.

Course Content:
Exercise not only helps with physical health but it has many more benefits to offer as well. Life today can be very stressful and many can feel unfit, lethargic and feeling low. Exercise helps relief stress and when fit you feel both mentally and physically better. A Couch 2 5km lasts 8 weeks and starts with a 1 minute run followed by a 3 minute walk on week one and we gradually build up to running 5km, During the course you will learn about the importance of stretching and a warm up before running and also the importance of a cool down afterwards. We will talk about the importance of hydration and the intake of protein. You are never too old to start exercise but we would recommend you talk to your Doctor if you have any concerns and seek his or hers advice.

Larry has been doing couch to 5k’s with groups for a number of years now. “I have had a great love of the outdoors for all of my life and I have been a runner for many years, having ran my 1st marathon back in 1986. Today, although now in my 60’s I still run 4 to 5 times a week and I’m looking forward to running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon in October. I look forward to meeting you and I’m confident that you all will enjoy our journey to fitness together”.
