Course Content:
This 8 week training course is an introductory level to badminton. You will learn basic racket grips, various techniques (serves, clear, smash, drops, net play) and footwork. The sessions will include warm-ups, technique, basic fitness, game time, fun games, cooldown and will progress you through the different aspects of the game. Badminton is a great sport to exercise while having fun in a social environment. Available to all including beginners and improvers.
Tutors – David & Molly Hong-Minh:
David was introduced to Badminton over 10 years ago and has been an active member (incl. Match Secretary) of Viking Badminton Club since 2009. David attended the shuttle time training course with Badminton Ireland. In 2014, David co-founded the juvenile CBC Badminton Club based in Coolmine, Dublin 15 as chairperson, coach and match secretary. Two years later, in 2016, David formalised his qualification as Coaching Ireland Level 1 Coach and is currently registered with Badminton Ireland. Qualification: Badminton World Federation (BWF) & Coaching Ireland Level 1 Coach. Head coach for juvenile CBC Badminton Club (Coolmine, D15) & an active badminton player and volunteer coach in Viking Badminton Club Tutor - Molly Hong-Minh has been playing badminton for the past 8 years. She has been an active member of Trinity College Badminton Club for the past 3 years and part of the committee (match secretary) for the past 2 years. Molly attended the shuttle time training course with Badminton Ireland. She is a former member of CBC Badminton Club. Molly has also completed Badminton World Federation (BWF) Shuttle Time Teachers Course.
