The aim of this presentation is to raise awareness of palliative care and challenge some myths about palliative care. It provides provide an overview of palliative care, drawing on the expertise of key leaders in the field of palliative care on the island of Ireland and the experience of people who have cared for a loved one with palliative care needs. It also highlights some relevant information about palliative care on the island of Ireland.
