DEMCon - Constipation Assessment & Management
This course aims to support the development of the practical skills and knowledge required to effectively assess and manage constipation in line with the best available evidence. Six modules have been developed in conjunction with nurses, doctors, pharmacists, allied health professionals and complementary therapists, as well as patients and their families, researchers, academics, and educators. Clinical content includes a background to constipation in palliative care, assessment, prevention, pharmacological and non-pharmacological management, opioid induced constipation, and bowel obstruction. There is a combination of theoretical learning, practical application to clinical settings, and online discussion with colleagues.
