This programme is specifically aimed at those who intend to apply to 3rd level Art Colleges in order to pursue a career in Art, Craft or Design. It is an intensive year suited to those who wish to explore their skills in a range of art disciplines, allowing them to develop their own identity and style. This programme prides itself on its success, whilst creating a positive enjoyable atmosphere, under the direction of highly experienced tutors and artists who base their teaching on their own practice. The course includes gallery visits. The course will also culminate in a group exhibition of learner’s work.

Entry Requirements

Education: NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway Additional requirements may apply to non-EU/EEA Applicants and may be subject to full international fees (Please refer to Information for International Learners) *Each provider may have additional requirements, not outlined above.

Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.

Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Successful learners will be able to progress to further Art Studies in 3rd level institutions offering Art Studies as per CAO requirements. Learners that have completed this course have been highly successful in gaining entry to 3rd Level colleges including;
