Course outline
Learners who successfully complete this module will:
• Explain the inter-relationship between the theory and practice of photography
• Outline the role of digital photography as a contemporary medium of communication
• Explain the functions of the principal components of a digital camera and or digital SLR camera
• Describe the functions and uses of camera lenses and camera accessories
• Explain key elements in a computer workstation layout
• Expose photographs correctly by controlling shutter speed, aperture, ISO and white balance
• Apply the correct digital editing tools and practices to produce high-quality final images
• Experiment with various elements of composition
• Illustrate individual creativity through the practice of photography
• Save and store images appropriately
• Construct a portfolio of work suitable for professional presentation
• Work independently in a disciplined professional manner
• Practice time management in completing work Make informed critical judgment of completed work
