This QQI Level 5 award will give you the knowledge, skill and competence to develop an understanding of the structures and functions of the animal body to provide the optimum care to a variety of species.
Course Content:
Basic levels of structure within the body, to include cells, tissues and organs
Structure and function of major systems within the animal body
Functions of major organs within the systems
Effect of pathogens and common system diseases in a variety of animals
Compare and contrast the anatomy and physiology of a variety of animal species
Suitable practical experiments and use of scientific equipment
Work within the laboratory competently and safely, under supervision and following best practice guidelines
Skills Demonstration 30%, Learner Record 30%, Exam 40%.
