20% discount on tuition fees for individuals in receipt of Full Job Seekers Allowance/ Benefit, Disability Allowance or One Parent Family Payment.
20% discount on tuition fees for all full-time LCFE learners 20% discount on tuition fees for all senior citizens.
Application forms cannot be processed nor places reserved without the full payment of tuition fees. Cheques, bank drafts or postal orders should be made payable to Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB).

This programme is suitable for individuals who wish to develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a professional capacity with children, parents and colleagues.
Course Description
• Working in Childcare: history of childcare provision in Ireland; childcare support organisations/agencies; professional development in childcare
• Legislation: duties of employers/ employees/childcare worker
• Working with Parents: parents and children’s welfare/development; difference family approaches to child rearing; parent and childcare team approach
• Parents, Children and the Childcare Team: interpersonal skills; verbal and nonverbal communication; listening, talking and encouraging a child
• Personal Reflection: personal experiences and childcare training; theoretical learning and working with children; strengths/weaknesses/ effectiveness
