Film & TV Production - Advanced
This 1 year, full-time programme provides learners with the opportunity to train for a career in TV and Film. Learners get the opportunity to develop their film making skills with particular emphasis practical hands on production skills. Advanced TV Studies learners will have access to the College’s new Apple iMac Computer Suite which is equipped with the latest software and hardware.

Entry Requirements
Education: NFQ Level 5 in a relevant discipline when accessing a Level 6 programme. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 6 courses for those whose first language is not English Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway Additional requirements may apply to non-EU/EEA Applicants and may be subject to full international fees (Please refer to Information for International Learners) *Each provider may have additional requirements, not outlined above.
Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to exercise initiative and independence when carrying out course activities.

Employment Opportunities / Progression
• The course qualifies learners to seek entry-level employment in the TV/ Film Industry across a range of technical and creative disciplines.
• Some graduates have opted to become freelance Documentary Makers, Scriptwriters and Film Directors.
• Other successful graduates have continued their studies at various Institues of Technology such as I.T Tralee, Limerick I.T and IADT Dún Laoghaire

Fees: There are no tuition fees payable to the College by EU nationals.
Non-EU Nationals who do not meet the exemption requirements are liable for a full tuition fee of €3,653 as per instruction of the DFHERIS. The LCFE College Registration Fee, materials Fee and Exam Fees are also payable. The tuition fee is non-refundable.
** Some programmes charge additional materials fees where the cost of the materials used for that course are relatively high.
*Some programmes may have additional examination fees if they are being accredited by bodies other than QQI (eg City and Guilds, CIBTAC, IPU etc). The QQI Exam Fee for Level 5 programmes is €50 and €80 for a Level 6.
Exemptions
The QQI Exam fee may be exempted when relevant documentation is presented at registration.
Means-tested Maintenance Grants are available to qualifying learners. These grants are administered by Learner Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) through www.studentfinance.ie. All applications must be made on-line. The College has a Grants Officer, who will advise applicants, as necessary.
