Prospective entrants must:

Be 18 years of age on enrolment

Have been identified as having an intellectual disability from birth or early years

Have a commitment to ongoing learning and personal development

Have three or more Level 3 FETAC Minor Awards (including Literacy/ Communication and, preferably, Numeracy), or equivalent

Programme Content
The central objective of the Certificate in General Learning and Personal Development, is to provide a pathway to third level education which empowers adults with an intellectual disability to achieve their educational and employment goals. Linked to the NFQ, this accredited Level 4 certificate programme, offers a progression route to further education and training options. The initiative aims to build capacity among learners and enable them to develop the skills required to become independent citizens.
