This course covers the essential elements that make up great photographs. We’ll look at what it takes to make your images stand out no matter what camera you have in your hand. Whether you are using a phone, a compact camera or a DSLR, the camera is a powerful tool for making images but the fundamentals of creating images which capture the viewers eye are the same.

We cover the essentials of image making in a range of different subjects including landscapes and scenics, portraits, sports and wildlife photography. An introduction to the more technical aspects of photography is included but the course is all about understanding your camera so you can take better photographs.

Practical work is included during the classes to teach and practice specific techniques and there is an optional field trip for each course (at additional cost).

Rob is a full time professional photographer based here in Cork. While he’s been making a living taking photographs since 2009, he’s been snapping for over 30 years and he uses his experience learning and practicing his trade to teach others about the essentials of great photography.
